Susan B. Kahn
Susan B. Kahn (Wheelock’60) of Waltham, Mass., published Sue’s Strategies: Best Reading Spelling Methods Ages 6–60, Parent and
Teacher Training Text (Sue’s Strategies, 2024), a phonics primer with a series of lesson plans and practice exercises. Susan was a special needs
teacher in Arlington for 25 years, worked part-time as a tutor with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, and ran a private practice for students with learning challenges. In addition to publishing, Susan maintains a YouTube channel and an instructional blog. “I currently teach students with learning challenges, and I advocate for legislation,” she writes. “My goal continues to be to end illiteracy, and I believe I have published the solutions.” In July, the executive director of the Waltham Chamber of Commerce interviewed her about her new book and the commonwealth’s
