Shirley Laska

Shirley Laska (COM’66) of New Orleans, La., writes, “After graduating, I went on to obtain a PhD in sociology from Tulane University. Since the mid1980s, I have been a disaster mitigation specialist, currently emphasizing climate change in my work. I am 75 years old with no intention of retiring. I have a new book out, Louisiana’s Response to Extreme Weather: A Coastal State’s Adaptation Challenges and Successes (Springer Publishing, 2019).”
