Scott Biron

Scott Biron (Wheelock’79) of New London, N.H., taught Colby Sawyer College’s Adventures in Learning program in spring 2023. His class, History of New Hampshire and New England Streamer Flies, is a new program aimed at anglers and local historians alike. “It’s a unique class that will include historical information on fly tyers and their flies as well as several of the large lakes these fly patterns were developed for,” he writes. “The secrecy of much of this material has gone to the grave with many fly tyers unwilling to give up their productive patterns.” Scott has worked to uncover much of this information over the past six years and says there’s still much more to learn.
