Rosita Stevens-Holsey
Rosita Stevens-Holsey (Wheelock’79) of Upper Marlboro, Md., coauthored a book about her aunt, Pauli Murray: The Life of a Pioneering Feminist and Civil Rights Activist (Yellow Jacket, 2022). “Though I’ve had a varied and interesting life, I felt the need to reinvent myself once again, as my true purpose came into focus,” she writes. “I needed to perpetuate the legacy of my amazing Aunt Pauli who was, among many things, a lawyer, a poet, a writer, an activist, and an Episcopalian priest. This effort to inform and educate the world has been my proudest achievement… so far.” In 2021, Amazon Prime released a 90-minute documentary, My Name is Pauli Murray.
