Richard Andrew Schwartz

Richard Andrew Schwartz (CFA’10) of Portales, N.M., released a new jazz album, Song for My Mother, with SONY/Orchard. The compilation features nine original compositions and two of the final studio recordings of the late jazz titan Ellis Marsalis. Richard has served as president of the New Mexico Jazz Educators. He is an associate professor of music and chair of the department of art at Eastern New Mexico University, where he was the recipient of the 2017–2018 Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching.
