Micaela Amateau Amato
Micaela Amateau Amato (CFA’68) of Boalsburg, Pa., had more than 40 gouache illustrations featured in Zazu Dreams: Between the Scarab and the Dung Beetle, a Cautionary Fable for the Anthropocene Era (Eifrig Publishing, 2017), a book written by Cara Judea Alhadeff. Since its publication, Micaela and Cara have received several grants for a film adaptation and are working with animator Tom DaSilva (COM’10). In April, the duo will present at Harvard Divinity School’s 2025 Ecological Spiritualities Conference. The exhibition will include a scholarly performance, workshop, and viewing of the Zazu Dreams trailer and preliminary artwork. Micaela’s sculptures and paintings have been shown in group exhibitions across the US.
