Lynne (Howard) Severe

Lynne (Howard) Severe (SON’67) of Green Valley, Ariz., writes that she was born to be a nurse. She has helped to change licensure requirements to enable nurses with out-of-state or with retired licenses to provide vaccinations throughout southern Arizona, a model she says has led to similar ones in other states. She has also taken on the role of volunteer team leader at her local hospital, creating projects to increase the care and comfort of all patients. She attributes this awakening to her passion for leadership and caring for others, and to her phenomenal training and mentoring while a student at BU’s School of Nursing.
