Liz Fanning
Liz Fanning (CAS’87) of Port Washington, N.Y., a former Peace Corps volunteer, was awarded the John F. Kennedy Service Award for Outstanding Returned Volunteers in a 2022 ceremony at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C. Liz is founder and executive director of CorpsAfrica, which she established in 2011 to give emerging African leaders the chance to serve like Peace Corps volunteers in their own countries. CorpsAfrica has hosted hundreds of volunteers to serve in rural areas of Morocco, Senegal, Malawi, and Rwanda and completed more than 500 projects. In 2019, Liz received the Sargent Shriver Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Service from the National Peace Corps Association.
