Kenneth Partridge (CAS’03) of Brooklyn, N.Y., published Hell of a Hat: The Rise of ’90s Ska and Swing (Penn State University Press, 2021). “The book focuses on the popularity of suit-clad, horn-packing ska and swing bands during the late Clinton years, when America’s relative peace and prosperity created the perfect environment for feel-good dance music,” he writes.
