Kassandra Nealon

Kassandra Nealon (CGS’15, Sargent’17) of Osprey, Fla., was diagnosed at the age of 23 with
T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After completing chemotherapy, radiation, and a stem cell transplant in 2020, she wanted to turn her misfortune into something that could help others. She published Bye, Bye, Bad Blood (2021), a children’s book that aims to teach young cancer patients about their diagnosis and prepare them for what is to come. It launched on www.ByeByeBadBlood.com exactly one year after her transplant.

From the Spring-Summer 2022 issue.
