Karyn (Weinberg) Polak
Karyn (Weinberg) Polak (LAW’94) of Baltimore, Md., published “Two-Pocket Thinking Is Dead (or It Should Be)” on impactentrepreneur.com in February. Two-pocket thinking is the entrepreneurial principle that states “the social responsibility of business is to increase profits, and we take care of society with what’s left over,” writes Karyn. “But this idea that financial capital carries a binary purpose—maximize profits on one hand and give away some on the other—is a fallacy with devastating consequences.”
