Jeanne Kelley Ohnemus

Jeanne Kelley Ohnemus (DGE’48) of Haverhill, Mass., writes, “I have just reached 94 years of age. My husband, Clifford Andrews Ohnemus (DGE’48, COM’50), died in 2007. We had five daughters, one of whom graduated from Boston University; her name is Janet Lee Ohnemus (CGS’72, COM’74). My most recent news is that in October 2019, the FAA gave me the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for 50 years of safe flying. It meant a culmination of many aviation experiences, such as flying to Alaska from Bedford, Mass., as well as many trips to West Palm Beach and on to the islands of the Bahamas; and especially one memorable trip to St. Martin for vacation. We felt fortunate to own our own small Piper Comanche aircraft in the less-crowded skies in the ’70s and ’80s. I had earned my private pilot credentials, then commercial, instrument, and multi ratings during that time. I also tandem skydived in Pepperell, Mass., when I was 86 (the oldest woman then).”
