Gail Gettens

Gail Gettens (Wheelock’94) of Concord, N.H., published Happy, Healthy, Lead-Free Me!, a children’s book developed with CDC and EPA grant funding. “Childhood lead poisoning continues to be a significant pediatric environmental health issue in the United States,” she writes, “but few people—especially families with young children—are aware of this toxin that can be in their homes.” Gail and coauthor Knatalie Vetter work for the state Division of Public Health Services’ Healthy Homes & Lead Poisoning Prevention Program.
