Carolyn (Bassett) Brownawell

Carolyn (Bassett) Brownawell (Questrom’84) of Worcester, Mass., joined UMass Chan Medical School as deputy executive vice chancellor and chief human resources officer in February 2024. Previously, she held human resources positions at the University of Colorado Denver, Boston University, and the MITRE Corporation. “My career following receiving my MBA at the BU Graduate School of Management has been a wonderful journey,” she writes. “My husband, Mark, and I are having fun getting reacquainted with the Boston and Worcester areas (cold, wet weather notwithstanding), and being closer to family as we navigate these post-COVID years.”
