Name: Giselle Robleto
From: Houston, Texas
School: College of Arts and Sciences
Major: International relations

Why did you choose BU?
I wanted to go somewhere that offered me many opportunities. Incorporating a good school with a good city scene was very important to me. I also loved how everyone at BU was so welcoming and friendly!

What are you most looking forward to about Boston?

Definitely meeting a lot of people with my interests. It’s a city with such a history and so many things to see (and eat) that I can’t wait to explore it.

What will you miss most about home?
The familiarity of all that surrounded me. That includes my family, my two dogs, my crazy friends, and last but not least, my car!

What will you miss least about home?
The hot weather! And sometimes running out of things to do and see.

Describe your favorite high school memory.
It would have to be the yearly Thespian and Future Business Leaders of America state competitions. Traveling with a bus full of friends, sightseeing in different parts of Texas, staying at hotels, and of course competing made it all so memorable.

What high school activities do you hope to continue at BU?

I was really involved with student government in high school, so that’s something I want to look into. Tennis and badminton are two sports that I’d love to keep playing.

What new activities do you want to try?
Seeing as I’ve always dreamed of being a ballerina but never had a chance to take classes, I’ll be taking beginners classes at the FitRec Center. Waterskiing and ballroom dancing are also definitely high on my list.

What is one of your long-term goals during your time at BU?
My goal would definitely be to find that thing I’m passionate about. Once that happens, I believe everything will fall into place.

What are you doing this summer to get ready for your first year of college?
Making a list and checking it twice. Whether it’s buying items for my dorm or setting up my tuition payment plan, I want to be sure that everything is taken care of before starting classes.
