Helen Williams wins a Lifetime Achievement Award
Helen Williams wins a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Massachusetts Association of Occupational Health Nurses.
Helen Williams, a clinical nurse practitioner and the manager of the University’s Occupational Health Center, was recently awarded the 2006 Massachusetts Association of Occupational Health Nurses (MaAOHN) Lifetime Achievement Award.
Each year, the association’s board of directors selects a member of the organization in recognition of “outstanding service to MaAOHN, dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to the field of occupational and environmental health nursing.” Williams, who has been at the University since 1997, is president of the Greater Boston Chapter of MaAOHN.
Williams’ contributions to the Greater Boston Chapter since her induction in 1985 include launching the chapter’s Web site in 2002, developing its policy and procedures manual, and creating a mentoring program for members. She also volunteers for the American Cancer Society.
